Within this issue, the magazine featured our Garden Dibber Celery-Top Pine, a hand-turned tool for planting seeds and bulbs at a consistent depth.
Made from Celery-top pine, a Tasmanian speciality timber, the dibber has clear depth markings for different planting requirements. It can be used for shallow-sown vegetables such as carrots, beetroot and lettuce, medium-depth crops including beans, cucumbers and garlic, and deeper planting for peas, potatoes and pumpkins.
The smooth, turned form is finished with a strong cord and can also be used when planting flowers and annuals. The marked shaft provides a quick depth reference when moving between seeds and bulbs with different requirements.
