Delivery Delays

Let’s start with the PROMISE THIS IS NOT A MARKETING STRATEGY, but a genuine update on expected delivery delays from now until Christmas.

Due to Christmas-level parcel volumes - a result of lockdown online shopping - Covid disruptions and industrial action, all delivery services are currently overwhelmed. This includes Australia Post, major freight companies and couriers.

What was a 2 to 3 business day delay nationwide, has blown out to a 3 to 7 day delay currently and this is expected to remain between now and Christmas.

Australia Post is our preferred carrier because they are the only one to guarantee delivery everywhere in Australia but they are grappling with losing hundreds of workers to self isolation while at the same time dealing with a huge volume of parcels. Australia Post even suspended parcel pick-up in some states last week to try to cope with the backlog of deliveries.

Here at Australian Woodwork we have been having our own issues with delays in shipments from our woodworkers which has led to many items being out of stock for longer than usual. We encourage you to make use of our ‘email me when back in stock’ option so that you don’t miss out when they arrive.

On another note it’s been hard on our woodworkers too - they need blades, turning tools, oils, sandpapers, finishes, waxes and many other woodworker type things that are also impacted by supply chain problems.

So apologies to all our customers but we are still here, shipping daily and we hope to fulfil all orders between now and Christmas. If you have any questions we are only a phone call or email away.
