DESCRIPTION

The elegant, delicately stepping Sandpiper is a common sight throughout Australia wherever there are tidal mudflats or wetlands. Captured here in its characteristic poses, the Sandpiper can be seen in a feeding position with a lowered head, and also its raised head pose. These handmade Sandpipers are a lifelike representation of this pretty bird. The body is made from sustainable Camphor Laurel and the head from resin, the whole hand carved with the head hand painted. Beautiful singly or with its partner this carving is a delight.
